As childcare providers it is our duty to ensure positive attitudes to diversity and support children’s individual needs.

Throughout the nursery we promote diversity through posters, displays, toys, jigsaws, food, books and dressing up.

These will be chosen to give children a balanced view of the world and an appreciation of the rich diversity of our multi racial society. Materials will be selected to help children to develop self respect and to respect other people by avoiding stereotypes and derogatory pictures or messages about any group of people. Positive images are displayed and used in and around the setting to reflect non-stereotypical roles, racial, cultural and religious diversity and disability.

Activities and the use of the play equipment offer children opportunities to develop in an environment free from prejudice and discrimination. Medical, cultural and dietary needs will be met according to each child’s individual needs.

We also have the facilities to support children with disabilities, we have the disabled toilet facilities, a workbench to aid a child in a wheelchair as well as wheelchair access.
